T-Pain Shares Truth About Most Cancelled Tours That Other Artists Try To Hide

Rapper T-Pain has cancelled his 1UP DLC and in a moment of candor on social media, revealed that low ticket sales were a key part of that decision. “I was advised to lie about this and say that I needed some time, or I needed some alone time or me-time or some shit like that,” he said in a video posted on Instagram (watch below0. "We fucked up. I’m gonna keep it real with y’all. Most artists lie. Whenever concerts get canceled or tours get canceled, it’s for low ticket sales.” He also conceded that he had not been as involved as he should have been in developing the tour together and apologized to his fans. “I thought since the first 1UP Tour went well and sold out every city, it should be good,” he said. “Having said that, I’m gonna take it upon myself to cancel [the tour]. It just would have been a bad look for me and it wouldn’t have been entertaining for y’all,” he added. He also noted that he was now having reservations about releasing his forthcoming 1UP DLC album. In subsequent tweets, he said he wished the tour announcement had the same media coverage as the cancellation did, but promised that there would be an announcement about new tour dates soon.
