Cardi B Tops 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards With 10 Nominations

“Please Me” rapper Cardi B led the charge for the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards nominations, with a total of nine nods. Cardi’s extensive list of nominations includes picks for MVP of the Year, Hot Ticket Performer, Hustler of the Year, Best Collabo, Single of the Year, Made-You-Look Award, and two nods for the Best Hip-Hop Video, & Sweet 16 categories. DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, and J.Cole, all followed on her heels with 8 nominations each. Drake, who earned the most nominations in 2018, picked up 7 nods this year, including Single of the Year, Hot Ticket Performer and MVP of the Year. The late rapper Nipsy Hussle posthumously received five nominations, while Megan Thee Stallion debuted on the list with 5 nods as well, including a pick for Best New Hip-Hop Artist. The awards will be presented at the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta, GA, on Saturday, October 5, 2019, and the broadcast premiere is Tuesday, October 8, 2019.
